Today is May 10th.    "WHAT was it the Engines said, Pilots touching,—head to head. Facing on the single track, Half a world behind each back? ..."*
The occaision was indeed momentus.    After years of bitter division, the nation as was reunited once again.    This time not in ideology, not in politics, but by two rails of iron laid on wooden ties.    For today and the next few days, with congratulations and happiest salutations to our friends at the Union Pacific and Southern Pacific historical societies, we salute "The Great Event". SOCIETY UPDATES The 4th issue of Seaboard-Coast Line Modeler is now available. See Modelers Corner, below, for download details - or - click "S-CL Modeler" on the menu bar.

We've updated the Q&A Forum.    You can view it -- HERE --.     In addition we will have tutorials on how to use it, how to sign up and how to personalize it PLUS some new topics for those who would just like to know more about how these forums work and how to get the most out of their computer systems.     If you haven't signed up - PLEASE JOIN US NOW.     If you were a member of the previous forum / Q & A - not to worry!     All members, topics and posts have been moved over.    Please be careful when checking the box relating to the required COPPA statement.    Some of you have been checking "Under 13", in which case - I have to call your parents! =)[actually it somewhat invalidates your sign-up and causes all sorts of problems].

If you’re not already a member, we invite you to join.     Single copies are also available through our company store and select hobby retailers.

Check out this page for more information.     THIS IS IMPORTANT...PLEASE READ !!!     Some of your issues are coming back marked "Temporarily Away".     Bulk Rate mail will not be held by the USPS and they CHARGE us for each issue returned as such.     Please notify us if you intend to put your mail on hold, or, perhaps, you are military and have been deployed.     Note that ALL active duty military personnel are entitled to have their subscriptions to Lines South forwarded to any APO, FPO or other address they wish during their deployment / tour of duty.    Please notify us by way of this email link.     Thanks - and thanks from all of us for your service and commitment.
MODELER'S CORNER FGEX boxcars a big hit at show!.     The Society received an initial shipment of the Athearn SEABOARD AIR LINE Fruit Growers Express HO scale, insulated boxcars (RTR) in time for the Jacksonville Golden Spike Railroad Show and promptly sold out 2 hours after the show opened.    Not to worry, more on on the way, but with popularity of this car, they won't last long.     Do you have a "pet" project suggestion - we're always open to new ideas. Send an email to Model Projects ACL & SAL Historical Society.
Also new - The Burlington Route Historical Society [http://www.burlingtonroute.com/] is introducing a line of whale belly hopper cars - matching the ones owned by the SEABOARD.
